Is Paint Correction needed for a Ceramic Coating?

There are mixed opinions about this topic. Most Professional Detailers would say Yes. The purpose of Paint Correction is to remove or improve the imperfections in the paint. A Ceramic Coating is a long lasting protection lasting two to 10 years or more. The natural thinking is to remove paint swirls and scratches before applying a ceramic coating. It is the job of the Professional Detailer to point out the benefits of Paint Correction but the ultimate decision comes from the customer, the specific situation and condition of the paint. So the answer is No, Paint Correction is not needed for a Ceramic Coating but is recommended in order to get the most benefit of a Ceramic Coating which is a high gloss look.
